Sven Lohmeyer studied urban planning at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg and at the HafenCity University Hamburg. During his many years of work, he has been involved in various projects, either in charge of content or as project manager - both throughout Germany and abroad (Nextsuisse project in Switzerland). Sven Lohmeyer's work focuses on mission and vision processes, urban development concepts and participation. He works on different scales of the city: from the city-wide level (Kiel 2042, Bauforum Magistralen) to the district or neighbourhood level (Wandsbek Impuls, Deine Geest) to area development (Stadtmacherei Eimsbüttel, Wir machen Wik). A special focus is on development concepts for city centres and urban core areas (Offenbach, Bremerhaven, Bochum). Sven Lohmeyer was a lecturer at the HafenCity University Hamburg from 2013 to 2016 and is a speaker at professional events in the German region. In addition to his work for urbanista, he develops and designs analogue games and also looks for approaches on how playful mechanics can be used purposefully as tools in dialogue and planning processes.
