Sven Kohlschmidt

Sven Kohlschmidt completed his studies in spatial planning at the Technical University of Dortmund with stations at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). His current focus at urbanista is on master planning for the future quarter in Paderborn on the former Barker barracks site. Previously, he worked on the development of urban future scenarios for the city of Freiburg i. Br. and the overall urban model for the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg. He also conducted research on digital forms of co-creative urban design in the project "Stadtmachen auf digitalen Plattformen" (City-making on digital platforms). In addition to his main work, Sven Kohlschmidt is co-founder of the collective Simeri Laboratorio Urbano, which deals with the revitalisation of rural areas in Calabria. In the spring semester of 2022, he led the Urban Design Studio at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape in Calgary as a guest lecturer.
