Marie-Louise Leppert is a graduate of Aalborg University with a Master of Science in Engineering in Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning and a specialisation in Cities and Sustainability. She also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Resource Management with a focus on renewable energies from HTWG Konstanz.

During her studies, she has worked extensively on climate change adaptation in urban areas, in particular through her Master's thesis on the effects of climate change on the sense of place of young people in Greenland. Her research was characterised by a guide to decolonising science and a participatory research approach that included intensive field exchanges. Furthermore, Marie-Louise gained practical experience through an internship at Dreiseitl Consulting, which deepened her knowledge in the field of blue-green infrastructure.

Since 2023, Marie-Louise Leppert has been working at urbanista and supports projects such as "Oldenburg 2050", which is about developing a vision of the future in a participatory process. She is also involved in the assessment, process management and preparation of a publication on the "Dialogorientierten Werkstattverfahren zum Projekt Klimastraßen" in Hamburg.
